"This week, anyone showing up to a participating Walmart will receive a complimentary set of Freedom Markers. We've got Anti-Immigration Red, Liberty White and Anti-Immigration Blue. We'll also throw in a free thesaurus so those signs don't come out so...controversial."
"And keep an eye out for new products, like this special pen that makes drawing Hitler-staches a breeze."
Amusing parody of Lady Gaga's Poke Face by "Fella Gaga." I especially love his back-up hillbillies, er, teabaggers and the gun-toting Palin.
"Obama-ma"
"Can't change my, cant change my country into a social state. S-s-s-social state s-s-social state."
"Screw your health care, killin' gramma's not fair."
The sad and very scary realization of this parody is that it's not far off from reality. Click here to witness the stylized musics of Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity fall out of the "intelligent" mouths of their loyal and obedient sheep at Sarah Palin's recent speaking engagement.
Why is it that I'm just now learning about the genius that is the Emmy-winning musical tragicomedy short film, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog? With it being written and directed by Joss Whedon and starring Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion, I lack an appropriate excuse. I guess "I've got a Ph.D in Horribleness." I was probably the only Whedon / NPH fan to be ignorant of its existence. In an effort to catch up with the rest of in-the-know society, I've already watched it three times, have downloaded the soundtrack to my iPhone and am following @drhorrible on Twitter.
Written during the 2007 WGA strike, Joss Whedon says it's a story of a "low-rent super-villain, the hero who keeps beating him up, and the cute girl from the laundromat he's too shy to talk to."
The lyrics, as well as the script, are brilliantly and creatively written. The writing is reminiscent of Whedon's infamous Buffy The Vampire episode, Once More With Feeling. This is the greatness that emerges when Whedon is free from FOX's tyrannical chains.
It's no secret how I feel about the initialism lol; I've written about it before. But this cartoon basically sums up what's really going on. Lately, I've been reading, "I'm actually loling," because everybody now knows that mostly likely you're not.
Like many others, I have taken to the tragic mess that is known as Jersey Shore. I still can't believe that people act in such a manner. I mostly watch in horror and disgust, but it's entertainment nonetheless.
In this funny video, Alyssa Milano is transformed into a fist-pump-worthy, bottle-tanned, hoochified guidette. That's the situation.
This PSA by Funny or Die is great and rings true on so many levels. Will Ferrell, Jon Hamm, Olivia Wilde and other celebrities come together to "protect" insurance company profits from the evils of health care reform.
"So why is Obama trying to reform health care when insurance companies are doing just fine making billions of dollars in profit?"
"Health Insurance agencies are huge. They need to make big profits so they can afford to give their employees health insurance. Believe me, that stuff's not cheap!"
I've been a Tucker Max fan for a while now. Sure, he's crass, he's crude, he has no filter and is, in his own words, a "raging dickhead," but he also has the ability to tell a story in such a way that I come close to losing control over my detrusor urinae muscle (yes, I've been waiting to pull that line out for some time now). He's the complete opposite of who I am and who I want to be, yet I'm still drawn to his escapades.
If you haven't read I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell, you should. You can even borrow my well-worn copy. In the meantime, watch the trailer for the movie which comes out September 25th. And remember, "fat girls aren't real people."
