Why is it that I'm just now learning about the genius that is the Emmy-winning musical tragicomedy short film, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog? With it being written and directed by Joss Whedon and starring Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion, I lack an appropriate excuse. I guess "I've got a Ph.D in Horribleness." I was probably the only Whedon / NPH fan to be ignorant of its existence. In an effort to catch up with the rest of in-the-know society, I've already watched it three times, have downloaded the soundtrack to my iPhone and am following @drhorrible on Twitter.
Written during the 2007 WGA strike, Joss Whedon says it's a story of a "low-rent super-villain, the hero who keeps beating him up, and the cute girl from the laundromat he's too shy to talk to."
The lyrics, as well as the script, are brilliantly and creatively written. The writing is reminiscent of Whedon's infamous Buffy The Vampire episode, Once More With Feeling. This is the greatness that emerges when Whedon is free from FOX's tyrannical chains.
A sequel has been confirmed.
Has anybody else not seen it?
Just me?
Just as I though.
It may be just you LOL. They even played a Dr. Horrible bit when NPH hosted the Emmys last year

Well I don't really watch award shows. I watched the Grammys this year in the background. But yeah, I actually meant to post that Emmys clip, too. Found it last night. Oops.
